Committees & Affiliates Get involved as a volunteer!
CommitteesAs a member-driven organization, much of the Chamber’s work is accomplished through a system of volunteer committees, councils, and affiliates. Through your voluntary service, you will be making a contribution to improve the quality of your community.
In addition, you will find opportunities to: • Network and expand your business contacts • Brand your company as one that "gives back" to the community • Develop leadership skills by representing your corporation

Agribusiness – The goal of this committee is to promote agriculture in the Stillwater trade area by working and recruiting ag-related events, as well as focusing on the development and retention of agricultural-based businesses and programs. The committee also recognizes a Farm Family of the Year and an Agribusiness/Business Person of the Year for Payne County. Business sponsorships are available for these awards. Ambassadors – This team works to retain existing members and attract new members by sharing about Chamber services, resources and benefits. As official representatives of the Chamber at various functions and front runners in the business community, members of this committee take the time to welcome new businesses to the community. They support fellow Chamber members by attending business opening and expansion events and visit existing members to help keep our membership data and services current. Chair: David Scott, Kwik Kar, Meeting Time: 2nd Friday of the month, 12 p.m. Staff Liaison: Stephanie Fry
Community Development – This committee monitors local policies, legislation and regulations, and provides input and direction in community planning, infrastructure and growth. Discussions center around issues regarding transportation and public works as they relate to economic investment in Stillwater. Chair: Gregg Bradshaw, Lambert Construction, Meeting Time: 1st Wednesday of the month, 4 p.m. Staff Liaison: Liz Campbell
Government Affairs – This committee develops the Chamber’s legislative agenda, working closely with public officials to communicate the needs of the Stillwater business community to our state and local representatives. They are responsible for the Third Friday Forum series as well as planning the Chamber’s annual Capitol Breakfast. Chair: Don Gable, Meeting Time: 2nd Tuesday of the month, 3:30 p.m. Staff Liaison: Liz Campbell
Manufacturer’s Council – Limited to regional manufacturers, this council is designed to facilitate local and regional manufacturer’s needs and common issues forums. The council meets quarterly for a tour and luncheon. Chair: Joe Genet, Meeting Time: Quarterly Staff Liaison: Josh McKim
Retail Committee –This committee is currently being developed to help promote the "Shop Stillwater" campaign. Other issues to be addressed include suggestions on making the Chamber Web site more effective, marketing strategies for local retailers and discussing what resources are available for retail businesses. Chair: Chair: Jason Teagle, Belk; Meeting Time: 2nd Thursday of the month, 12 p.m. Staff Liaison: Josh McKim

AffiliatesStillwater Convention & Visitors Bureau - Operated by the Chamber in partnership with the City of Stillwater, the CVB at www.visitstillwater.org is funded by a lodging tax and guided by an oversight board appointed by the City Commission.
Young Professionals of Stillwater Young Professionals of Stillwater is a program of the Chamber of Commerce that began in February of 2007. The goal of the program is to organize cultural, leadership and educational opportunities in the Stillwater community to involve the 20s to 40s demographic and encourage young talent to remain in Stillwater. The steering committee organizes socials, fund-raising events, and other educational and volunteer activities.
Leadership Stillwater To prepare them for leadership roles, participants undergo more than 60 hours of classroom-style training. The program consists of two all-day sessions and eleven evening sessions covering various areas such as community and human services, Stillwater’s economy, education, city government and leadership skills development. Program resources include civic leaders, government officials, educators and experts from a variety of fields. Leadership Stillwater is a program of the Stillwater Foundation for Progress, an educational affiliate of the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce.
Stillwater Foundation for Progress The Stillwater Foundation for Progress is the charitable and educational arm of the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce. It conducts Leadership Stillwater and other educational programs.
Stillwater Industrial Foundation Operated by the Chamber, the Stillwater Industrial Foundation acquires and develops industrial sites and acts as a liaison for new and expanding industry.
