Metro First Realty Stillwater Named the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce Business of the Month for March

Sharyl Pickens opened the Stillwater branch of Metro First Realty in November, 2013. The parent real estate company was based in Oklahoma City, with seven branches there. Sharyl's was the first branch office established outside the OKC metro. She immediately joined the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce and jumped in with both feet!

Her desire was to connect the Stillwater market to the growth opportunities associated with Oklahoma City.

In 2016, the corporate structure of Metro First Realty changed, and Sharyl became an independent franchise owner.

Metro First Realty Stillwater supports several nonprofits in our community, as Sharyl sits on the boards of CASA for Kids of Payne and Logan Counties, and Stillwater Arts and Humanities Council. She serves the Stillwater Board of REALTORS as the Political Action Committee chairperson and she is active as a Stillwater Chamber of Commerce Ambassador. Also with the chamber, Sharyl has served as a member of the Total Resource Campaign for three years. One of her favorite community activities is participating in the United Way's Day of Caring.

On her weekly radio show, Over The Fence, Sharyl features local business owners, OSU faculty and staff, local celebrities and a good dose of community events.

As a Phi Mu Fraternity alumnae, Sharyl is the chapter adviser for the Oklahoma City University chapter.

At their local church, she is the Sunday school supply coordinator and substitute teacher, as well as upcoming Vacation Bible School director. In Perkins, Sharyl is a member of the Lion's Club and the Perkins Chamber of Commerce, where she was recently awarded the Sherri Gordon Community Service Award for 2016. She volunteers at the elementary library, and she also leads a weekly 2nd and 3rd grade Brownie troop. And after today's meeting, she will meet you in the parking lot with Girl Scout cookies!

Her agents include sister-in-law Rachel Pickens, Ashley Snow, and Austin Martin. Together, they serve Payne County and the surrounding areas by facilitating residential, commercial, and rural transactions.

Sharyl grew up in Payne County, attended Perkins-Tryon High School and graduated from Stillwater High School in 19xx. She studied at OSU and got a lucky break when she met and quickly married Brent Pickens in the mid-80s. It was Brent's parents, Ernie and Peggy Pickens, and their real estate business that got Sharyl started on this career path. It's all their fault!

Sharyl and Brent have three children, Westin and her husband Geno Younger, Colt Pickens, and Will Pickens.
