The Stillwater Chamber of Commerce relies greatly on the volunteer work from the partnerships. Committees and task forces are created to concentrate on major areas of concern to our Chamber and the local business community. Each committee meets as needed.
Ambassadors Committee Meeting Schedule: 3rd Wednesday of the month at 12:00 PM This committee is to help promote, serve and participate in the growth and development of the Chamber through attendance at functions. They help retain existing partners and recruit new partners by sharing about Chamber services, resources and benefits. Infrastructure/Community Development Committee Meeting Schedule: 1st Wednesday of the month at 4:00 PM This committee monitors local policies, legislation and regulations in regards to community infrastructure. They provide input and direction in community planning and growth. Discussions center around transportation, public works and other issues related to economic investment in Stillwater. Government Affairs Committee Meeting Schedule: 2nd Tuesday of the month at 4:00 PM as needed. This committee provides leadership to the partnership and community in influencing governmental policies at local and state levels in order to promote community interests, transportation, infrastructure, education and business development. They assist in facilitating communication with our state and federal delegation through hosting functions such as the Third Friday Forum. Task Forces Agribusiness Meeting Schedule: Meets as needed. This committee is to promote agriculture in the Stillwater trade area by working and recruiting ag-related events, as well as focusing on the development and retention of agricultural-based businesses and programs. The committee also recognizes a Farm Family of the Year and an Agribusiness/Business Person of the Year for Payne County. Retail Meeting Schedule: Meets as needed. This committee addresses retailer needs including marketing strategies and discussing what Chamber and community resources are available for retail businesses. This committee also assists in the promotion of the Stillocal campaign and the holiday shopping incentive, Jingle Bell Sweepstakes. Events Meeting Schedule: Meets prior to major events.
This committee assists Chamber staff in the planning and implementation of the major events that the Chamber holds each year. They assist in providing member direction for the needs of each event and offer areas to grow and improve the event. Events include the Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet and the Golf Classic.
Total Resource Campaign Meeting Schedule: Late September through December
Each year the Chamber compiles a Marketing and Sponsorship Packet of all the programs, events and marketing options offered for the year. Volunteers on this task force will assist in meeting with businesses and present them opportunities to promote their business for the following year.
