Stillwater’s January sales tax apportionment is down 5.85 percent from last year’s number

STILLWATER, Okla. (February 13, 2019) – The City of Stillwater collected $2,285,618 in sales tax from November 2018 transactions that were reported to the Oklahoma Tax Commission in December 2018 and apportioned to the City in January 2019.

This is a decrease from January 2018 collections by $148,169 (5.85 percent), an increase year-to-date of $78,073 (0.45 percent) and collections fell below projections for January 2019 by $21,484 (0.89 percent).

The City of Stillwater’s use tax collections in January 2019 was $220,859, which is up $39,037 (21.47 percent) from January 2018, down year-to-date by $72,966 (5.55 percent) and below projections for January 2019 by $33,194 (13.07 percent).

Hotel/motel tax remitted to the City in December 2018 on November 2018 transactions totaled $49,870, which is down from December 2017 collections by $28,858 (36.66 percent), under year-to-date by $20,523 (4.50 percent) and under projections for December 2018 by $16,310 (24.65 percent).
