Mayor Revises Stillwater’s Nov. 30 State of Emergency

Dec 28, 2020

(STILLWATER, OKLAHOMA / Dec. 19, 2020) – On Friday, Dec. 18 Oklahoma County District Court Judge Susan Stallings issued a Temporary restraining Order against Governor Kevin Stitt and the Alcoholic Beverage Laws Enforcement Commission (ABLE), restraining both ABLE and the Governor from enforcing the 11 p.m. closing of bars as issued in the Governor’s Eighth amended Executive Order 2020-20, issued on Dec. 14, 2020.

Although the restraining order was only effective against the six plaintiffs who brought the action, ABLE announced their agents would not be enforcing the closing of 11 p.m. against other bars.

As a result, Stillwater Mayor William Joyce has issued a revised proclamation removing language identical to the Governor’s Dec. 14 Emergency Order regarding hours of operation.

All other bar and restaurant restrictions from the Mayor's Nov. 30 Proclamation are still in effect.
